National Education Leadership Programme: Sedafiat receives delegation visit from Institusi Aminuddin Baki programme entourage

Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd. was recently selected by Institut Aminuddin Baki (IAB), the leadership development institute under the Ministry of Education Malaysia, as a benchmark organisation for the 2025 National Professional Qualification for Educational Leaders (NPQEL) Programme in the state of Sabah.

A total of 64 programme participants, comprising senior lecturers from IAB and future school leaders in Sabah, visited Sedafiat’s headquarters on 5 June 2025 as part of their study tour under the NPQEL programme.

According to the head of the delegation, Mr. Ruddy Daupin, the visit aimed to provide participants—who are on track to become headmasters and educational leaders—with insights into Sedafiat’s leadership and management excellence that can be adapted and applied to enhance effectiveness and performance in their respective institutions.

In his welcoming speech, Sedafiat Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Hj Ag Buhtamam Hj Ag Mahmun, expressed gratitude for the recognition by IAB in selecting Sedafiat as a benchmark organisation.

“We believe that through this engagement, participants will gain valuable knowledge on leadership mechanisms that can be applied within educational institutions. This demonstrates that strong leadership practices transcend sectors, and we are proud to contribute to the development of future leaders in education,” said Datuk Hj Ag Buhtamam.

During the opening session, Datuk Ag Buhtamam introduced Sedafiat as a home-grown Sabahan company that has been managing Healthcare Support Services for 26 government hospitals across Sabah and Labuan for the past decade. He also shared several best practices in strategic leadership that can serve as guidance for managing institutions effectively.

The session included a presentation by Sedafiat’s management team on various key areas of organisational management. Topics covered included Strategic Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Procurement, Vendor & Logistics, Legal Affairs, and Strategic Marketing.

By selecting Sedafiat as a benchmark, this programme integrates best practices from the private sector to enrich educational leadership. It provided participants with exposure to innovative approaches and effective management strategies.

According to Institut Aminuddin Baki, NPQEL is a flagship initiative under the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013–2025, aimed at strengthening school leadership by developing high-calibre educational leaders.
