LETTER OF INTENT (LOI) SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SABAH
Kota Kinabalu, 9 September 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd. formalised a Letter of Intent (LOI) to strengthen their strategic collaboration in the areas of sustainability, digitalisation, talent development, waste management, and green landscaping.
The LOI signing ceremony was officiated by Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd. Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Hj. Ag. Buhtamam Hj. Ag. Mahmun, and UMS Chief Digital Officer, Prof. Dr. Ag. Asri Bin Ag. Ibrahim.
The signing was witnessed by UMS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Mansor; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International), Prof. Dr. Rossita Shapawi; and representing Sedafiat, Head of Procurement, Vendor, Logistics & Inventory Department, Mr. Awang Roozan Bin Mohd. Nadzir, and Head of Sedafiat Innovation, Technology, Environment & Quality (SITEQ) Department, Mr. Muhammad Nur Siddiq Chin Abdullah.
Also in attendance were Sedafiat's Head of Legal & Corporate Secretariat Department, Ms. Elina Binti Ezzauddin Hussein, and Corporate Communications Unit Manager, Datin Dr. Mariam Binti Ag. Mahmun.
This collaboration serves as a foundation for strengthening the partnership between academia and industry, with a focus on digitalisation, environmental sustainability, and innovation development. It is expected to create greater opportunities for long-term collaboration that will deliver mutual benefits to both parties.
