Sedafiat and Hospital Queen Elizabeth II Strengthen Partnership to Enhance Sabah’s Blood Supply
KOTA KINABALU, 9 July 2026 – The spirit of compassion and social responsibility was further reinforced through the Blood Donation Campaign, which brought together employees, volunteers, and members of the public in an effort to help increase blood supplies for patients in need.
To strengthen existing blood reserves, Hospital Queen Elizabeth II (HQE II) launched its first initiative in collaboration with the private sector, partnering with Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd. This initiative was undertaken to ensure that the blood supply remains at an optimal level.
According to the Director of Hospital Queen Elizabeth II, Dr. Ferro Firdaus Ibrahim, the programme aims to meet the urgent blood requirements of HQE II as well as several other hospitals in and around Kota Kinabalu and throughout Sabah. He also expressed hope that more external organisations would come forward to support the initiative.
“Hospital Queen Elizabeth II warmly welcomes individuals, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and private companies to collaborate with the hospital in organising blood donation campaigns. This is essential to ensure that Sabah maintains an adequate blood supply to meet current healthcare needs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sedafiat HQE II Facility Manager, Leikson Lopog, stated that the campaign clearly reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the public healthcare system. Collaborative programmes such as this have strong potential to be expanded to other healthcare facilities in the future.
The organisers hope that regular and consistent efforts of this nature will help maintain a stable blood supply across Sabah, ensuring preparedness for any emergency situations requiring immediate blood transfusions.
