Sedafiat Business Partners Excellence & Sustainability : The Way Forward
On 24 June 2025, Sedafiat Sdn Bhd officially launched the “Sedafiat Green Procurement Initiative” in conjunction with the Sedafiat Business Partners Excellence & Sustainability: The Way Forward programme — a strategic and comprehensive initiative designed to strengthen collaborative ties with business partners while reinforcing the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles.
The programme, organised by the Procurement, Vendor, Logistics and Inventory (PVLI) Department, aimed to foster open dialogue and continuous improvement with vendors, while assessing and empowering their performance across key criteria including delivery efficiency, procedural compliance, technological capabilities, and business integrity. A strong emphasis was also placed on integrating ESG principles throughout procurement practices and vendor operations, ensuring all transactions are conducted with transparency, accountability, and sustainability in mind.
As a proactive step in this direction, Sedafiat proudly launched its Green Procurement Initiative, aimed at reducing carbon footprint and waste by prioritising the selection of eco-friendly products, materials, and services. This initiative promotes the use of sustainable and recyclable products that comply with recognised environmental and safety standards, while also educating vendors on the importance of green compliance, sustainability certifications, ESG audits, and transparent reporting.
In support of Malaysia’s national aspiration to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, this initiative also prioritises local vendors who demonstrate a genuine commitment to green practices — contributing to the development of the local green economy and advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The launch of this initiative marks a significant milestone in Sedafiat’s journey toward sustainable business operations and long-term strategic partnerships grounded in shared responsibility for environmental stewardship and corporate governance.
