In a strategic move to empower the timber-based industry and foster high-skilled talent development, the Wood Technology Festival (WoodFest) 2026 was successfully held at Dewan Rafflesia, Politeknik Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
The festival served as a premier collaborative hub, bringing together government agencies, industry representatives, academicians, and students. A key highlight was the Focus Group Dialogue, which explored the critical role of agencies in sustaining the timber industry and its long-term growth potential.

The event featured a keynote address by Datuk Haji Ag Buhtamam Ag Mahmun, Chief Executive Officer of Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd. Invited for his extensive industry expertise and leadership, Datuk's sharing provided the audience with strategic insights and inspiration regarding the future of the sector.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Datuk James Ratib, underscoring the state government's unwavering commitment to supporting Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the timber technology industry in Sabah.
